NOTE: This is a "New Adult" novel. Due to mature content this title is recommended for ages 17+

Synopsis: Finding the perfect guy is like mixing the perfect drink. It's all about the taste and presentation.

Maddy's gone off the deep end, at least that's what her family thinks when she handles her med school rejections by moving to the Outer Banks. It doesn't help that she's paying her bills by bartending and is sharing walls with two guys, even if one of them is her childhood best friend.

Her choice of men seems more balanced on the surface—Colin is driven, sexy, and gainfully employed, but she can't help spending her Thursday nights searching for the perfect drink for Lyle, whose music captivates her with its haunting lyrics. Maddy believes everyone has a perfect drink—and finding Lyle's isn't a challenge she's willing to lose.

Character Interview with Maddy, Macon and Brody:

Maddy, Macon, Brody, thanks for chatting with me today.

How about we start off with an easy question…. Since it was just New Years Eve did anyone have any fun plans you could tell us about?

Maddy: I had to work, but everyone came by to hang out, and I made awesome tips. After I closed we went out on a boat and rang in the New Year with a night scuba dive.

Macon: I got to annoy Maddy at work and go for a dive. Perfect. Of course it would have been better if I’d had a date. Maybe next year.

Brody: I had to work, but I got off in time to hang out with everyone. It was a lot better than I expected, and I’m hoping we can top it next year.

One thing I often wonder is how each of you feel with your story out there for anyone to read?

Macon:  I’ll take this question. Maddy’s terrified. She hates opening herself up and letting people see how she really feels. I think it’s great.

Maddy interrupting: We’ll see how you feel when Alyssa writes your story next.

Brody: Laughing. Are you sure you guys have never slept together?

Maddy and Macon: NO!

Maddy, is it hard living with two guys? What’s the best and the worst part of sharing the space?

It’s hard to live with these guys because they always need to know everything that’s going on in my life. They are as bad as little old women. On the flip side, Brody is an awesome cook, and Macon makes me laugh all the time. At least it’s less drama than living with girls.

Macon and Brody, same question - what’s it like having a woman for a roommate? And what’s the best and worst part of sharing the space?

Macon: She uses up all the hot water, but otherwise it’s a nice change of pace.
Brody: I cook and she does my laundry. It’s a good deal. Besides, she’s fun to rile up. If I had to mention a bad part it’s that when she’s in a bad mood she tends to take it out on everyone.
Maddy: Hey! I do not.
Macon: Laughing—yeah you do.

Macon, Brody if you could each describe Maddy in three words what would they be?

Brody: Funny, sweet, unexpected
Macon:  Cute, spitfire, loyal

If the three of you could each describe the other as a mixed drink, what would that drink be?

Macon: Maddy is a Whiskey Sour. She’s sweet and tart but still alcoholic. Brody is a Shirley Temple, okay just kidding. He’s a Rum and Coke. Kind of classic, but always nice to have around.

Brody: Maddy is a Cosmopolitan, even though she doesn’t seem it on the surface she’s kind of girly, and Macon is a Salty Dog.

Maddy:
Easy.
Macon is a Long Island Iced Tea because he drinks so many of them that he’s become one. Brody is a High Ball. Classic and refreshing.

How about another question for the three of you? What’s your ideal Saturday night like?

All: Good friends. In the end that’s all that you need to have a good time.

And Maddy since you know all about mixing the perfect drink, what would you say is the drink of your author Alyssa?

Her drink is a Sapphire and Tonic. On the surface it seems simple, but it’s refreshing, and goes well with everything. She also loves warm weather, and it’s the perfect summer drink.

And lastly, if there was one thing you look back on now, with the book being released is there anything you’d change? And if so why?

Maddy: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I should have listened to Macon. Sometimes I make things harder than they need to be, but then again, life’s about the adventure.

Thanks for visiting with me today, it’s been FUN!

Maddy: Thanks for having us!
